Hans–Joachim Golberg was born in Marl, Germany, on May 31, 1956. He received Dipl.–Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Aachen, Germany, in 1982. Since 1983 he has been with the Design Center Integrated Circuits of the AEG, Ulm, Germany, which is now a department of the ATMEL company. From 1986 to 1993 he worked in the field of VLSI digital signal processing circuits and semicustom design techniques in CMOS. Further industrial projects and designs in bipolar, BICMOS, SiGe and SiGeCMOS technologies were performed thereafter. In 2000 he started work on GPS – RF front end with the second generation now under development. He is Manager of the GPS development department.
